Summary
The University of Michigan Marsal Family School of Education's Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research (CEDER) is hiring a Programs Coordinator to work across two programs administered by the center: the Bosch Eco and STEM Teacher Grant Program (BEST) and the Dow Innovation Teacher Fellowship (DITF). The Programs Coordinator will work directly with the BEST Teacher Grant Program Coordinator and the Dow Innovation Teacher Fellowship Program Manager. This position is supervised directly by CEDER's Managing Director with support from respective program leads.
Starting date: As soon as possible. Please note this is a one-year limited-term position, with the opportunity of renewal.
Work format: Marsal Education offers a flexible working environment. This role is open to hybrid work and would allow a flexible schedule of up to two remote days per week. You should plan to live within commuting distance of the School of Education if hired.

CEDER
The Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research (CEDER) advances equity and excellence in education by providing access to high-quality design, evaluation, and research services through collaborations with university, school, and community partners. CEDER, a center within the University of Michigan School of Education, provides expertise on topics relating to teaching, learning, leadership, and policy at multiple levels of education.
BEST Teacher Grant Program
The Bosch Eco and STEM Teacher (BEST) Grant Program advances sustainability and STEM education in ways that inspire, excite, and engage. The program supports innovative project-based learning experiences by awarding grants of up to $2,000 to preschool-grade 12 educators. BEST grantees have access to professional learning opportunities and a network of driven and like-minded colleagues.
CEDER manages the BEST Teacher Grant program in partnership with the Bosch Community Fund. The CEDER team is responsible for program administration, evaluation, scaling, and improvement. CEDER partners with districts, educational foundations, and nonprofits in participating districts to conduct outreach and support applicants and grantees. Dow Innovation Teacher Fellowship
The Dow Innovation Teacher Fellowship (DITF) is a partnership between Dow Company Foundation, the University of Michigan Marsal Family School of Education's Center for Education Design, Evaluation, and Research (CEDER), and Delta College.
DITF trains and supports K-12 teachers from all disciplines in Michigan's Arenac, Bay, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland, and Saginaw counties to design and enact place-based, sustainability-focused learning units in their classrooms.
DITF encourages cross-curricular teacher collaboration by prioritizing applications from interdisciplinary teacher teams. More information on this program can be found at www.ditfellows.org.

Responsibilities*
The Programs Coordinator will work with program and administrative staff within CEDER to accomplish the position's goals. They will be responsible for program administration across four main areas: program outreach and event logistics, fellowship and grant administration, teacher support and resource curation, and general program and administrative support. The BEST and DITF programs are growing and evolving, and the opportunity to work on other projects and tasks may arise for the individual in this role.
The ideal candidate will feel passionate about sustainability, education, and equity. All CEDER staff are provided professional development opportunities to help develop their skills and connect with a network of educational development professionals at the Marsal School of Education and beyond.
Program Outreach & Event Logistics
- Maintaining contact lists using administrative software
- Technical and administrative assistance for online events
- Assist with registration and logistics for in-person gatherings
- Administering program social media and webpages
Fellowship & Grant Administration
- Creating new online accounts for grant applicants
- Assist with the administration of application review processes
- Disbursement of grant funds
- Assist with the administration of the grantee and fellow reporting process
Teacher Support & Resource Curation
- Creation and review of program resources
- Maintaining a database of teacher resources
- Communicating resources and opportunities to teachers, including managing a monthly newsletter
General Program and Administrative Support
- Provide support to other CEDER projects and programs as appropriate
- Assist with program planning and implementation, including supplemental sustainability programming
- Other duties as assigned
STEM and Sustainability Program Development
- Co-lead a teacher community of practice, supporting DITF fellows in exploring and addressing a problem of practice
- Collaborate with CEDER colleagues and other stakeholders in strategic visioning and iteration of the DITF and BEST programs
- Collaborate with program leads and CEDER leadership to support grant proposal and report writing
- Support curriculum design related to STEM and sustainability topics
- Support CEDER projects and programs as needed
Required Qualifications*
The CEDER team will conduct a holistic hiring process, considering a range of factors when considering the right fit for our center. You will most likely have most or all of the following qualifications.
- An earned Master's degree in teaching, educational studies, sustainability or environmental studies, program administration, or related fields, or commensurate professional experience;
- Experience with program and/or project administration;
- High-level analytical and communication skills;
- Experience using project management software, Constituent Relationship Manager (CRM), spreadsheets, website builders, or other tools to administer a project;
- Initiative, willingness to work independently and collaboratively, excellent organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills;
- Ability to work in a dynamic, flexible work environment, including strong time- and task-management skills across multiple priorities;
- Ability to work successfully across remote and hybrid settings;
- Flexible and friendly, able to communicate and get along with a wide range of people; and
- Commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, justice, and equity.
Desired Qualifications*
These qualifications are desired but not required. You should still apply even without the following qualifications.
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar position;
- Experience with education, STEM, or sustainability programs;
- Experience or skill in developing and managing pivot tables or complex spreadsheets;
- Familiarity with communities across Michigan or other program sites;
- Experience with program evaluation; and
- Experience creating outreach materials and conducting program outreach.

Please note that this position is term-limited but may have the possibility of extension based on available funding.
Salary
The starting salary will vary depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, and education.
